lyrics
Another raindrop on my head
And I'm still lying here in bed
I'm waiting for the chance to come
So I can leave this place called home
But nothing ever seems to be
The way that I want it to be
Another English morning goes by
And I'm asking myself why
Why am I in this strange place
Where nobody's seem to have joined the race
But people are never going to be
The way you want them to be
I guess city life isn't half that bad
When you're given no reasons to be mad
At the people walking in straight lines
As they go home to their kids and wives
But no one's ever going to be
The way that you want them to be

Remember how Bill Murray woke up to I Got You Babe every day in Groundhog Day? If that song would have been Made Of Moods, he at the very least experienced three and a half perfect minutes each day. It’s one of those songs that I enjoy each and every second of, with it’s jangly guitars and hushed vocals that almost have a Beach Boys vibe, especially in the verse. Truly, it’s a song for the ages. But the best news about Still Life is that it offers eleven additional underground pop gems. Niek || Add To Wantlist

Stirs up memories it has no business doing, arriving 27 years too late; captures the feeling of a certain corner of '90s indie without imitating a particular band. Lovely tension between warm and cold guitar. IlsaJ
